Honors Final Thought Exercise

You will choose a poem we have used for TPFASTT or a painting we've used OPTIC technique on to write this thought exercise. I have provided links here for you to ALL the poems and paintings. You may do research, too, if you would like. :) It is NOT necessary. This will be due after the break! It's a DOUBLE thought exercise, so it's worth DOUBLE the points!
Here are the poems:
You may choose one of these paintings:
Directions: Write a 2 paragraph thought exercise.
You will have ONE thesis statement (ex: In "Musee des Beaux Arts," Auden looks at suffering through the eyes of old master painters and regular people to show humanity in the circle of life."
Both paragraphs will talk about the circle of life and how humans deal with it.
However, one might deal with "regular people" (and use EVIDENCE/QUOTES) from the poem white the other paragraph might deal with old master painters (using evidence/quotes from the poem).
You *should* have a triangle paragraph paper, but if you don't, I'll include it here:
In your FIRST paragraph, instead of writing a conclusion, your sentence will transition from the first idea in the essay to the second idea in your essay. This is the *perfect* place for a compound, complex sentence.
Please also include these patterns (somewhere in your work):
  • IC, cc IC
  • IC; IC
  • DC, IC
  • IC DC
  • DC, IC, cc IC.
This will be due after the break! It's a DOUBLE thought exercise, so it's worth DOUBLE the points!

Happy Christmas, and I hope the new year will be better than last!
